  • Description:

SN 72484 is a Remington Model 1889 grade one 12 gauge shotgun.  This example shows 90% bright excellent original blue and excellent original wood. original Remington arms butt plate.  The bores are bright but show corrosion or light pitting, related to corrosive  ammo of the era. The barrel shows 28" but appear to have been shortened from 30".  The good news is that both barrels now gauge at full cyl.  All matching numbers, tight action, 2 3/4 chambers and tight solid action.  This shotgun may be an ideal cowboy action piece.  This piece was built for black powder and has decarbonized or Damascus barrels.  We cannot recommend the shooting of the same.  We can only advise that it be examined by a licensed gunsmith prior to any shooting.  An above average example.
