Lee Enfield No 5 In Exceptional Condition

  We are pleased to offer one of the finest condition Jungle Carbines that we have encountered in many years.  This No 5 MK 1 is dated 5/47.  This model was declared obsolete in July of 1947.  Fazakerley continued to build the same into the fall of that year.  SN AA 7078 is all matching and shows absolutely no evidence of usage or issue.  The original finish rates at 99% as does the wood and rubber butt.  The inspector and factory stampings in the wood are clear and crisp.  The left socket shows a F47 mark as does the wood.  The bolt face, feed ramp and mag follower show no actual usage marks. The wood shows all of the original factory finish.  The left side of the socket and barrel show England and commerical proofing as required by English Law prior to export.  The matching bolt shows a No 1 marked head.  There appears to be little doubt that this carbine went from the Fazakerley works directly to the "War Reserves" until it was surplus sold out of the country.  This No 5 is a true collector grade example for the most discriminating collector.
