- Description:
Antique English Officers pistol built by Thomas Barnett, gunmaker, Minories, London 1796-1810. This is a better grade pistol with a platinum-lined vent and blade front sight. The lock shows the makers name Barnett with leaf engraving on the plate and cock. It also shows a slide bar safety. The walnut stock shows a checkered butt and engraved steel triggerguard with a pineapple finial. This piece shows a belt or sash hook. The finish is an overall dark brown petina. The only pitting is in the pan area of the touch hole and barrel. A nice example of a late 1890's English Officers pistol. The left side of the forestock shows a repaired sliver adjoining the barrel.
