  • Description:

SN 061104 is a WW1 Enfield built by London Small Arms Co Lt., 1917 as a MK III rifle.  The cut off slot remains in place.  This example remains in above average condition with all matching numbers bolt, action, nosecap, stock and sight.  The left side of the socket indicates the conversion to 410 (brass riot cartridge) in 1946.  The bottom of the mag plug shows proofs and inspectors marks.  The butt shows the SA & 1 broad arrow stamp indicating issue to the South African Infantry. (:The broad arrow by Sennerton", page 129).  This would have been supplied for potential riot control. An above average example as most of the 410 found are in much poorer condition and the majority were issued in India/Pakistan.  A scarce South African variation converted in England.
