  This bayonet shows the Canadian Arsenals mark and the 1956 production date.  The C 1 bayonet was adopted in 1955 and first issued in 1956.  The Canadian blade had a "stubby " point.  This example is from the 1956 first production run.  The blade on this piece shows an early frosted finish blade.  Ref.- see page 309-31 of "British & Commonwealth Bayonets" by Skennerton.  An early example 1956.
