• Description:

  British Pattern 1853 bayonet.  Overall length is 20 1/2" with a 17" bright blade.  This bayonet was built at Enfield and shows the E proof.  The base shows XXXV1 marking  This bayonet appears to have been plated at one time.  The bayonet rides in the later type of scabbard supplied mostly for use on the Snider.  Very good plus example with an excellent scabbard.
