  1842 Pattern Johnson U.S. pistol.  This is a variation with an installed single blade rear sight.  This example shows SK proof on the barrel, very good bore and "in the white" finish with light pitting.  The lock shows the Middletown, Conn. address and the 1855 production date,US and I.N. Johnson..  The lock is bright with slight pitting.  The wood and brass fixtures are sound and complete.  Antique - no license required.
