  • Description:

This holster is the 2nd Model soft shell variation introduced in 1943.  The reverse shows a faint later war "P38" ink stamp with Waffenampt "WaA23" and coded "bml" for Hans Romer of Neu-ULM (DONAU)  The holster is constructed of late war leather with slight crazing on the flap and sound stitching.  The inside of the break away flap is faintly marked in ink "HB" and what appears to be a serial number of "8872"  This holster was probably manufactured in 1944.  The magazine pouch shows a neatly and deeply struck "MM"  Similar holster to the one illustrated on page 82 of Military Holsters of WWII by Bender and shows stressed leather between the belt loops.
