Springfield 1903 Built 1917 30-06 Rifle

• Description:

  U.S. Springfield SN 763761 built and marked 12/17 Dec 1917 at Springfield Armory.  This example shows a bright excellent bore and an overall excellent Parkerized finish as the rifle was arsenal rebuilt as were the majority of rifles from this serial range.  The bolt show excellent to new blue finish that was obviously installed in the rebuilt. Tthe bolt is a new condition all Remington built piece.  The wood rates as very good plus but was cleaned at some point.  The left side shows the trace of the FLA Ordnance Dept. stamp and other obliterated ordnance markings.  This example was a WW1 1917 that was rebuilt at a later date.  This is a better than average example of a 1903 than is normally found on the Canadian market.  Reference see "03/Springfield" by Canfield and "Standard Catalog of Military Firearms", 8th ED,page 426.
