  • Description:

A Russian Cossack service pistol.  This piece shows a 12" barrel, 64 caliber with a heavy four lands and groove bore that remains in excellent condition.  These pistols were buit in Europe for Russia.  This piece appears to have been built in Belgium.  The ball trigger and butt are typical of the Cossack service pistols.  This piece shows the plain back action lock and the heavy military nipple.  Built with 3 iron barrel bands and no front sight, this piece was acquired by the owner's father in England and was probably a trophy brought back by an English service man from the Crimean War.  Original examples are not that common.  This example is not a tourist trade piece circa 1830-40's. This piece is complete and shows obvious usage.
