• Description:

  SN 4577B is a Mauser Model 71 carbine built and dated 1876.  This 11mm carbine shows the wood cut ahead of the band as are the majority of these carbines.  These were mostly cut by the original importer to assist the sale of the same as inexpensive sporting rifles.  Circa late 1890's.  This piece shows a bright very good to excellent bore with strong rifling.  This piece is all matching and would be an ideal candidate to rebuild to its military configeration.  The butt plate is marked with its issued unit, 17.D.3.74  17th Dragon Reg Troop and issue number.
