• Description:

  SN J 6368 is a less common variation of a H&R Revolver.  This example is a Defender Special in 38 S&W.  This piece is noted in the book "H&R Arms CO 1871-1986" page 98 & 99 reference the 38 caliber, 2" Defender Special.  This piece appears to be a special order police gun built during or just before WW2 .  The left of the barrel is marked (Politic). The walnut grips are similar to some of the WWII H&R flare pistols .  The dull dark finish would suggest that this revolver saw service in a tropical area. Bright excellent bore, 5 shot , mechanically sound revolver.  An uncommon piece for the H&R or Police collector.
