• Description:

  Canadian Long Lee Bayonet dated 6 96.  This piece shows a bright excellent blade with date and inspection marks and has sound grips with inspectors marks.  The pommel shows normal usage marks.  The cross guard shows unit mark 4. R.D.75.  This bayonet rides in a matching scabbard C which is also marked 4.R.D.75 on the stud.  The leather shows inspector and the 96 date(This was the date of the largest lot of Long Lees to Canada) . The leather is sound.  The metal shows staining and fine pitting.  This bayonet was probably issued and marked to the Dorchester Infantry Regiment, 5th Military District. Matching scabbqrds are much more difficult to locate.
