BSA Lee Metford Charger Loading Rifle

SN 51491 is a BSA commerical charger loading Lee Metford rifle MKII. This nitro proofed rifle shows the BSA logo on the barrel knox form. The bore shows overall corrosion and wear. The bolt is matching . Ref page 448 of the Lee Enfield by Skennerton. This example retains all of its' original features including its volley and 1800 yard adjustable backsight. The metal shows an overall brown finish on the barrel. The receiver shows the BSA marking on the socket and fine pitting. The left side shows the reailers name L.R. Tippings and Son Mistley Manningtree. The rifle is stocked in black walnut that remains in ery good to excellent condition. As a commerical rifle, the wood is devoid of inspector markings. These rifles are relatively uncommon in Canada. An example for a Lee Enfield collection.
